There is no god. There are no angels. There are no spirits guiding us.

The vastness that we feel, the infinite universe we believe in,

is nothing but an emergency net we have created with our own mind.

We put it below us to answer questions unknown and to remove fear we cannot explain.

The truth is, we create our own realities and our own understanding of the universe.

We create our own gods and our own guidance.

Our power is lost the moment we forget this.

There are con artists telling us to look for signs and trust the divine but they are not telling us that we created the signs already, and we did so so that we can return home whenever we were ready.

These “modern gurus” are taking our power and our freedom as we try to become them and as we lose ourselves without even realizing it.

Can we get to the point where our feelings beat our thoughts to the punch?

Where we make decisions with our instincts before our analysis makes us someone else?

The voices of others bleed into our brains before our own person can even be formed.

There is no god, there are no angels, there are no spirits guiding us. It’s just us. We are all those things.

There are particles inside our body that already know everything we need to.Particles that are both matter and non matter. Measurable and incomprehensible, scientifically perfect and completely unexplainable. In these particles, or intuition as we might better know it, we will find the answers to the questions that drive our fear and create our joy.

We don’t know who we are. But we can find out.

To take a step in the dark is to be alive. We are miserable because we don’t act. Only after we take the step can our mind write the map. Why wait for the answer to come when we don’t even know the right question to ask? We have to act. And we have to start with our most basic instinct. Water. Nature. Walking. Drawing. Tiny remnants of dreams burnt out that still revolve quietly in the pit of our stomach.

This is where we start. Light bulbs turn on in the process of experience, ideas pop when we’re in the realm of creativity, living life as ourselves. Not before. Never before.

There is no optimal time to start being you. It doesn’t start on July 15th or next year or when we finally finish that project. The desire to be you must be stronger than the excuses we make to justify our reasons for living the way we currently are. Haven’t we had enough?

We can start making our own bridges to places we need to go because the particles inside are ready to speak when we are ready to listen.

“What am I interested in?”

“Is this what I want to be doing right now?”

“Does this feel right?”

These are the questions we have to be asking ourselves, not, “What are other people going to think about this?”

We know where we are going, even, and, in fact, especially when we don’t think we do.

It’s the particles inside, and it’s the important questions we ask ourselves –

“What am I interested in?”

“Is this what I want to be doing right now?”

“Does this feel right?”

Nothing bigger than us can happen until we realize that there is nothing bigger than us.

There is no god, there are no angels, there are no spirits guiding us. It’s just us. We are all those things.

*special thank you to Sarah Clark for helping this concept land most recently and to Ashley for mentioning a certain “spiritual guru” that manipulates her audience into being miniature versions of herself.
