If you own a business that offers a service then you’ve had your fair share of experiences with Yelp. Whether you agree with the site and its users or not, it affects the way people view your business.
A lot of companies will routinely ask customers to “Yelp” them without offering anything particular in return. You’ll get some feedback from your dearest and most loyal customers but it doesn’t extend very far beyond that.
In order to motivate a customer to do something for you, you have to do something for them in return.
In this case, I decided to attempt to humor my clientele by writing, directing, and starring in a short video about an epidemic that I made up called “Yelplessness.”
There were a few people that thought this was a little offensive but at the end of the day I got over a dozen Yelp reviews for my yoga studio Hale Holistic, and half of them were from people I didn’t personally know.
